TOP 10

Here is a list of my 10 favorite books of all time:

01

Harry Potter

Written by J.K Rowling (Books 1-7)

All about the boy wizard, Harry Potter. Seriously... I think we all know what they're about. Love!

02

The Hobbit

Written by J.R.R. Tolkien

Bilbo Baggins goes on an adventure... Awesome fantasy and just a great epic adventure story. (The first time I read this, I stole it out of the lost and found in middle school.) This is the prequel to Lord of the Rings.

03

Lord of the Rings

Written by J.R.R. Tolkein

Sequels to The Hobbit. A much longer, much more complicated epic fantasy adventure than the Hobbit, but just as fantastic.

04

Sphere

Written by Michael Crichton

Science fiction about a possible alient spacecraft. Definitely a thriller and keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is the book that started my obsession with Michael Crichton.

05

The Valley of Secrets

Written by Charmian Hussey

This is a story about a boy finding himeself through reading his Uncle's journals from his travels around the world. He inherits a house, which he travels to completely on his own, and finds out about his uncle and the amazing adventures he had. This book has surprises and plot twists throughout the entire book, and it is very well written.

06

American Gods

Written by Neil Gaiman

Such a great point of view on the things we hold dear in today's society, but told as an awesome adventure. Neil Gaiman is pretty awesome.

07

The Theif Lord

Written by Cornelia Funke

I have loved this book since I read it in probably the 5th grade. Placed in Venice, Italy, and follows a band of street kids and their search for a magical carousel.

08

The Inheritance Cycle

Written by Christopher Paolini

A great epic and long fantasy adventure that was orginally supposed to be a trilogy, and ended up being 4 books. Definitely aspects of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, but I think these have their own story and are very well written.

09

The Thirteenth Tale

Written by Diane Setterfield

Just a great story about the main characters finding out who they are and lots of books! I couldn't put this down. A great mystery and it has a lot of twists the reader doesn't expect.

10

The Historian

Written by Elizabeth Kostova

Usually not a big fan of vampire books, but this one is about Dracula. Loved the unusual story line; this is not your average vampire book. Elizabeth Kostova puts a new perspective of an old subject into all of her books.
