The book is actually based off a YouTube series (that I didn't know existed until I picked up the book). This is basically a retelling of Pride and Prejudice in modern terms. Lizzie Bennet is a graduate student trying to finish school and start her career in communications. For her thesis, she starts making YouTube videos that show her family and the crazy events that go on around them. She has a naive younger sister, an overbearing mother that wants to marry off her daughters to the first eligible bachelor that comes along, and a lovable best friend. I found the names very amusing, because they are modern spins of the orginal names in Pride and Prejudice.
I gave this 4 out of 5 stars because it is a retelling of Pride and Prejudice, which I love, and because I thought it was very well written. It is written as a sort of diary, but the diary aspect isn't super present or overbearing. I'm actually probably going to check out the YouTube series. I'd recommend this to anyone that likes Jane Austen and would be interested in a modern spin on her stories, or any girl in her 20's.
